In light of recent blatant racial injustices that we have seen in the United States, Madina Institute Arkansas USA is holding this workshop to educate members of our community on Islam's stance on Race and Racial Justice.

As Muslims, we are expected to stand for justice, be it against ourselves, our family members, or our friends. At the same time, it is important that we toss aside any implicit biases we may have as a result of cultural or societal influences. Islam is a religion of purity and that encompasses body, soul, and mind.

Insha'Allah, we hope that we would all leave this workshop better equipped with some knowledge required to approach matters concerning Race and Racial Justice in the Ummah. We also pray that Allah (S.W.T) gives us the ability to practicalize the steps we would learn in our lives and teach it to those around us.

We are almost towards the end of the blessed month Ramadan, and our Holy Book tells us that, "and Allah ﷻ [wants] for you to complete the period of [Ramadan] and to glorify Allah ﷻ for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful." (Quran 2:185)

Our beloved Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever does not give up forged speech and evil actions, Allah ﷻ is not in need of his leaving his food and drink (i.e. Allah ﷻ will not accept his fasting)" ~ Bukhari.

Zakah is one of Islam’s five pillars and a great foundation of establishing a just society. It says in the Holy Qur’an (2:110), “And establish prayer and give zakat, and whatever good you put forward for yourselves—you will find it with Allah; surely Allah sees what you do.”

Ramadan is the best time to give Zakat. We encourage you to join us about the ruling and conditions of Zakat through an excellent source. Mufti Didmar Faja will be joining Imam Nawaz for a Zakat Webinar on Saturday April 25, 2 PM to help us understand the issues concerning Zakat. He will also be answering questions.
