5 Misconceptions About Ramadan

It’s important to challenge these misconceptions and remember that Ramadan is not only a time of fasting, but also an opportunity for spiritual and physical growth. As Shaykh Dr. Muhammad Ninowy explains, during this blessed month, we are encouraged to embrace the three levels of fasting:
The Fasting of the Body – abstaining from food, drink, and other physical needs.
The Fasting of the Limbs– abstaining from hearing, saying, and seeing that which is haram.
The Fasting of the Heart – purifying our intentions, thoughts, and emotions, striving to eliminate negative feelings and focusing on spiritual growth.
Ramadan is an opportunity to reflect, purify, and strive to become our best selves, both in faith and character.
