Ashura & the Legacy of Imam Hussain (AS)
Join us on Thursday, June 25, 2026 (10th Muharram), at 6:30 PM to commemorate the Day of Ashura and the Shahadah of Imam Hussain (AS).
Let’s reflect on his sacrifice, honor the legacy of the Ahl-ul-Bayt.

Fasting on Ashura
It is recommended to fast on the 9th and 10th of Muharram. If that is not possible, then fasting on the 10th and 11th is preferred.
📅 Dates for This Year:
- 9th Muharram – Wednesday, June 24
- 10th Muharram (Day of Ashura) – Thursday, June 25
- 11th Muharram – Friday, June 26
Fasting on the Day of Ashura serves as a powerful reminder of liberation and devotion to Allah (SWT). Several significant events are linked to this day in history, including the deliverance of Prophet Musa (AS) and Prophet Nuh (AS).
Narrated Ibn Abbas (RA):
“I do not know Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) singling out any day’s fast and considering it more excellent than another, except this day (the Day of Ashura) and this month – meaning the month of Ramadan.”— [Sahih Muslim]

Join MMA Fighter Zoba for structured martial arts training designed to build confidence, discipline, fitness, and self-defense skills in a positive and supportive environment.

* Monday: 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM
* Wednesday: 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM
* Duration: 1-hour classes
Age Groups
* Ages 8–12
* Ages 13–17
Classes will be held in separate age groups.
Fees
* $120 Registration Fee (includes uniforms and equipment)
* $75 per month per child

Summer Camp Gardening Project!🌱
As part of our Kids Summer Camp, students will be learning about gardening, planting, and caring for growing plants. This hands-on activity will help them develop responsibility, appreciation for nature, and healthy habits.
We welcome and appreciate any donations of gardening supplies or materials, such as:
* Flower or vegetable seeds
* Seedlings or small plants
* Potting soil or compost
* Gardening tools (kid-friendly if possible)
* Plant pots or containers
* Watering cans
* Garden gloves

Joy in Christ Lutheran Church Visits Madina
On Thursday, June 11, Madina welcomed 12 members from Joy in Christ Lutheran Church in Hot Springs Village. The group visited as part of their church's world religions class to learn more about Islam and engage in meaningful dialogue.
Led by Sr. Madiha Shahid, Sr. Sr. Mahbuba Begum, and Sr. Christina Smith, the visit included a roundtable discussion, a tour of the facility, and an overview of the history of Madina Institute Arkansas. Terry Sterzik and the other church members asked thoughtful questions and contributed to a respectful and engaging conversation. It was a wonderful opportunity to build understanding and strengthen community connections.
Friday Family Night Farewell Potluck Highlights
Approximately 60 people attended our Farewell Event on Friday, June 12.
All three departing families were present and shared heartfelt words of thanks and appreciation.
Guests were invited to sign poster boards featuring photos of each family and leave messages, memories, and well wishes. It was a special evening filled with gratitude, fellowship, and encouragement for the families as they begin their next chapter.
